Android is the most popular open-source mobile platform in the world. The simplicity and customizing abilities are the most prominent reasons for this higher popularity. Here, I am going to make you aware about Android kernel, the core program which is mainly responsible for Android performance and battery life. Technically, Kernel is the program which connects Android software and hardware. Each Android smartphone users its own version of the Linux kernel determine the performance and battery life that the device manufacturer intends to provide. Perhaps you may already know that our Android smartphone are provided with a constant stream of battery power even it is idle or active to keep proper functionality for longer time though it is a waste from users' ends. On the other hand, the CPU works in standard frequencies all the time despite the current functionality of the device.

It means, your device does not change the CPU frequencies although you want higher data processing at a certain time. As an example, you need to play a game with higher capacity on your device but you cannot do it as you device cannot adjust the CPU and GPU levels according to its requirements due to standard parameters comes to form your device manufactures. You can change these configurations using custom kernels and custom Kernel managers. Most of the times, custom kernels do not require root access but custom kernel managers do as they need to configure the kernel setting and needs to be allowed by the system.

In such cases, you need to download android root apps and configure your Android device to accept the kernel changes you do on your system. If you need to achieve battery life and performance goals on your Android, I hope this stuff would be helpful to you. Although kernel customizing is useful, it affect OTA updates as your device does not accept OTA updates without stock kernel. So, if you are going to use custom kernel make sure to back up your stock kernel first.
